FANUC has consistently pursued the automation of factories since 1956, when it succeeded in the development of the SERVO mechanism for the first time in the Japanese private sector.
With its three pillars consisting of the FA business, which encompasses FANUC’s basic technologies of NC (numerical control) and servos, the ROBOT and ROBOMACHINE businesses which apply this basic technology, and the open platform, “FIELD system,” which is a manifestation of IoT, FANUC contributes to the manufacturing industry in Japan and overseas by promoting automation and efficiency in manufacturing.
Headquarter Factories
CNC Factory
The CNC factory has a capacity to produce a total of 25,000 CNCs and ROBOT controllers a month. The automated lines utilize a large number of FANUC intelligent ROBOTs to robotize the operations which previously, only human workers could conduct.
LASER Factory
The LASER factory has a capacity to produce 160 LASER oscillators a month. The automatic testing system utilizing FANUC CNCs constantly monitors tests which run continuously, ensuring the production of high quality LASER oscillators.
SERVO Factory
The SERVO Factory has a capacity to produce 150,000 SERVO MOTORs and 84,000 SERVO AMPLIFIERs a month. The latest robotized factory integrating FANUC’s technologies conducts highly automated and efficient production, from part retrieving to assembly, testing, and packing.

ROBOT Factory
The ROBOT Factory has a capacity to produce 5,000 ROBOTs a month. The automated assembly systems with a large number of FANUC intelligent ROBOTs assemble ROBOTs which continuously undergo tests and inspection in the testing area.
ROBOSHOT Factory
The ROBOSHOT Factory has a capacity to produce 400 ROBOSHOTs a month. The assembled ROBOSHOTs are connected to a host computer with LAN to set data and collect testing data automatically.
ROBOCUT Factory
The ROBOCUT Factory has a capacity to produce 100 ROBOCUTs a month. Machines are connected via LAN to a host computer for efficient data transfer, production control, and operation instructions.
ROBONANO Factory
The ROBONANO Factory has a capacity to produce 1 ROBONANO, an ultra precision nano machine, per month.
Highly accurate finishing and precision measurement, along with assembly of ROBONANO parts such as bearings, are carried out efficiently.
Machining Factory
The Machining Factory machines parts for ROBOTs, ROBOSHOTs, ROBOCUTs and LASER oscillators. With the installation of FANUC Robot Cells, the factory operates unmanned for long hours including on Saturdays and on Sundays.
SERVO MOTOR Parts Machining Factory
This factory manufactures parts for SERVO MOTORs with CNC lathes. The workpieces are stored in distributed warehouses, and are supplied to machining cells by commands from a computer. The workpieces are loaded and unloaded by ROBOTs automatically.
Press & Die Cast Factory
The Press & Die Cast Factory is a highly automated facility for manufacturing SERVO MOTOR parts. Die cast processes for aluminum, such as melting, ladling, application of release agents, taking out, trimming, and deburring, are robotized, enabling 24 hours of continuous unmanned operation.
Paint Factory
The parts for ROBOTs, ROBOSHOTs and LASER oscillators are painted by FANUC paint robots.
FANUC Intelligent ROBOTs realize the automatic masking process of casting parts which had conventionally been considered difficult for automation.
